Lately I’ve been using Google Assistant to help me stay on track with my ADHD symptoms!
So far it’s been working well, although I’ve had to tweak things a little here and there. Ultimately I’m on a mission to create a positive life that’s going to help me to achieve my goals and stay on top of my priorities.
Having lived with my ADHD brain for the past almost thirty-years now, I’ve learnt how to better understand to understand how I think and behave. Much of this self-awareness has just developed by observation and moments of deeply withdrawn introspective thought. I’m not sure if I recommend doing this yourself. (I tend to unintentionally overthink and over analyse a lot of things, which tends to take up a big chunk of my life… I’m working on managing this a little better)
Other self-awareness came from watching videos from the Youtube channel “How to ADHD” (https://www.youtube.com/howtoadhd)
Learning about my brain and about ADHD has allowed me to develop some very specific ways of writing and prompting myself to actually get moving and stay motivated. With the help of scheduled reminders and using my own pre written prompts, I’ve been trialing the use of programming these into my smart assistant.
The following snippets of text aren’t necessarily the prompts I use. I’ve written out a whole bunch though. These are just a guideline for what I think might work with my brain – hopefully you can benefit from them too.
You can customise these to suit your individual needs. I hope you find them helpful in creating a routine. (I currently use the Google Assistance)
This page will be updated when I write more prompts and reminders.
